Wow, I really need to get better about updating this blog.  Here is what happened in the last week.

Hannah Mae, Emilee and I volunteered to pick up and transport dog food for the Dogs of Hilltown rescue.  Look how full the van is!  There was one other vehicle just as full.  That's a lot of happy puppy bellies!

We went swimming as a family.  I don't remember the last time Quinn went swimming- and she was happy!  The boys found a friend to play with and were putting their heads under the water.  Yes, even Drayke.  LOL Nothing like peer pressure!

I somehow convinced Hannah Mae, Ryker and Drayke that weeding was fun!  They didn't get it all done but did manage to do a big chunk of it.  Can't complain since the help was free.

Emilee got her business up and running. Isn't the necklace cute?  You can find her on Facebook at her page Emilee Mason Creations.

Just a random pic from a doctor's appointment this week. I just thought Quinn looked cute (and happy).

Eric's 40th birthday was on Friday.  We had 40 candles on the cheesecake but we couldn't light them all!  The first ones were melting wax all over it before they were halfway lit.

I surprised Eric and took him out to the movies on his birthday.  I never get to surprise him (he always knows when I'm up to something) so that in itself is amazing.  We went and saw Warcraft.  The action scenes were great, and I loved that you saw so many locations and creatures that were in the game, but the movie as a whole was horrible.  I mean laugh out loud horrible, particularly the dialogue.  But we had a good time.

Saturday Quinn and I volunteered at a Dogs of Hilltown adoption event.  Quinn helped walk and water the dogs.  She did REALLY well.  Having the dogs to focus on really helped with her people anxiety.

She even picked up a little something for her future service dog.

Saturday (don't faint) Eric and I actually got another date out.  We went to a Frisco Roughriders baseball game.  Shin Soo Choo was rehabbing but his performance was just so-so.

I also managed to surprise Eric again. Yep, I did.  Happy 40th Eric!

And those were our crazy days.

Not the busiest of weekends but not a lot of downtime either.  We've been helping our foster kitty, Tesla, get settled in.  First he camped out in the window of our bedroom but he didn't seem terribly happy there, so Emilee took him with her upstairs.

Now that he has a base in Emilee's room he is just as happy as can be. He's just staying with us until his dad gets his housing situation straightened out, so we are enjoying the moments while we can.

Hannah and Eric went swimming for a while yesterday. (Hannah was booooorrred).

And here are a few more pictures from HM's concert last week.

This is what happened when I tried to sit down and update the blog yesterday.  Gette and Jiji had other ideas.

Hannah Mae spent the day at an Anime Convention with her friends.  I have no idea who this character is but apparently everyone at the Con did, so she had her picture taken quite a bit.

Today Eric and I took Ryker out to spend his birthday money from Mimi and Papa.  We didn't tell him where we were going but he didn't mind.

He picked out some items for their Disney Infinity Game.

After Emmy and Eric went gaming, Quinn and I watched the dog training video given to her by the service dog Foundation.  There was a lot to learn!  Quinn took notes the entire hour and a half!

And that was our crazy day.

Last week of school for the year DONE...WOOT!

Major happening this week was Drayke's award assembly.  We were notified to attend and that Drayke would be getting an award but we had no idea what for.  Imagine our pleasant surprise when it ended up being the award for ART.  Way to go kiddo!

The rest of this week involved cats. And boxes.  Just a normal week.

Mister:

And Natasha:

And our new houseguest, Tesla.  Tesla will be staying with us while his Dad finds new housing.

And those were our crazy days.

This was one of those weeks where it was busy but it didn't feel like we did anything in particular.
It was filled with running around to our normal meetings, appointments, classes, etc.

I guess first I should update my Pops collection.  After an appointment in another town Eric and I decided to check out the Gamestop and Barnes and Noble for their items.  People must not collect Pops in this town because we found a lot we didn't have already! (I'm saying "we" now because I just have to face the fact this has become Eric's collection too.

We were also able to grab a Walgreen's exclusive.

Here's the status of the collection. I don't think we can collect any more, there's no more room!
We did decide that it was probably time to take a break for a while unless we find more exclusives.

There was also cat cuddling this week of course.  Mister doesn't normally come into our room but he did this week for some reason.  Mister is a quieter, more reserved cat. He decided he needed some cuddles too!

Hannah Mae told me my dress looked like the internet exploded and I was inside the Matrix.  I guess that was a pretty good description.

Natasha didn't seem to mind, though.

We save our boxes for the cats to play in.  Eric thought these three boxes looked like Olympic podiums for first second and third place.  He put them at the end of our bed and waited ALL DAY to see if we could actually get three to climb on the boxes at once.  Finally, late at night, success!

We heard about the status of Quinn's service dog this week.  They have identified a breeder, who has a litter of 8 week old puppies right now!  I have been talking with her online and she is AH MAY ZING.  They should be going home soon as I know the first one went to her new home last night.  Squee!  Quinn is so excited.  She was kinda bummed one she had her eye on was the one the sire's family selected as pick of the litter, but I think she just had her eye on that one because it was the only brown one and easier to pick out in a pile of puppies.  The rest are black and white.  I told her the black and white ones are better for a Harlequin anyway (She wants to name the dog Harley and her name is Quinn).  So we will see what happens next.  We are supposed to get a call from the foundation next week.

The boys had their final swim class.  I think, other than not getting a special snack at the grocery store anymore, they were ready for it to be over.

Draykey was busy making faces and Ryker was playing with a drain.  Oy.

The big news for this week was that Ryker's birthday was on Sunday. I can't believe he's 9 now!  Where is the time going?  In the morning we had church and a picnic, and in the afternoon had Mimi and Papa over for cake and ice cream.  Ryker was amazed that you can actually have chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream ALL TOGETHER!

I did manage to get my feet bitten by a bunch of fire ants at the picnic.  Ouch.  You can see some of the blisters.

Today is Memorial Day but we aren't doing anything special. Emmy and Eric are off gaming.  I'm hanging out with the other kids.  More baseball tonight! Woot!  Just on TV but I'll take it.  While everyone is out at the lake imbibing here's what I'm chugging this holiday.

And those were our crazy days.
